My Inspiration

Everyone have their own direction to be a successful person. Likes me, I am also want to be a success woman. If can, I want to be such as my idol, he is Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad. With to be is a successful man, I took him as my inspiration Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad was born in Alor Star, Kedah on10 July 1925 and was Prime Minister of Malaysia from 1981 to 2003.He trained as a Doctor at the King Edward V11 Medical College in Singapore. During his term in office, he was credited for engineering Malaysia’s rapid modernization and the resulting high levels of prosperity now enjoyed by nearly all Malaysians. Mahathir also was able to maintain peace between the various races in Malaysia, and this is regarded by many as his greatest achievement.

During his term in office, Mahathir forcefully tried to turn Malaysia into high-tech manufacturing, financial, and telecommunication through his economic policies based on corporate nationalism. These policies remained in effect to the end of his tenure in office. Besides, his project have included Perwaja Steel, Proton car company and Astro, a satellite television service. In other hand, during this period, Mahathir embarked on various enormous construction project, such as the North-South highway, which has cut transport time in half on the West Coast of Malaysia, the Multimedia Super Corridor, a flagship project based Silicon Valley designed. Not more than, the buildings which have become symbolic of modern Malaysia, the Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest buildings in the world from 1997 to 2003.

Mahathir remained tremendously popular among many Malaysians. He was known for a being a man of few words, a mature speaker and also his largely successful policies in steering Malaysia towards economic growth. He was one of the greatest spokesmen on third world issues and strongly supported, He was dedicated to various third world blocs such as Asean, the G77, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organisation of Islamic Nations and most recently, the latest WTO talks at Cancun. In 2002, a tearful Mahathir announced his resignation to a surprised UMNO General Assembly. He was persuaded to stay on for a further eighteen months, in careful planned handover that ended in October 2003.Shortly before living office, Mahathir sparked off a fierce controversy when he called on Muslim leaders at the 57-member Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) summit to ‘fight back against their Jewish oppressors’ who ‘ruled the world by proxy.

Largely due to the economic development of the country, which by and large has benefited races, Mahathir left behind a peaceful, prosperous and self confident, for which he has been granted the soubriquet as Father of Modernisation. Mahathir remain an inspiration to the younger Malaysian generation due to his leadership abilities and his no nonsenses demeanour.

LIVING AT CITY OR SMALL TOWN

City and small town is the places where the people can stay with their family and also a place to build their own life. These place have their own similarities and differences. The city will offer the aspect that the small town cannot offer as the city and small town is not the same place. The four main differences are transportation, environment, educational institution and job opportunities.

I am going to discuss about city first. Nowadays, transportation is very important and very needed in the people life. However, people who live at city is more use the transport than the people who lives in a small town, so the number of transport at the city is more highest than small town. Besides, more of people at the city use the modern transport likes branded car, motorcycles, bus, taxi, monorail and so on. At small town not have transport likes this and that cause many people choose to live at city than small town. The environment at the city is not very good at all. It is because there have more pollution occurs likes air pollution, sound pollution and the others. Usually, the sound pollution occurs because of the increasing of the transports, industries and so on. So, it is difficult and hard to get fresh air because an air is polluted. There are a lot of educational institutions at the city, so that can give benefit to the student to choose the best educational institution that they want. Last aspect is job opportunities. At the city, many jobs and more choice, so they can choose what jobs they want. Besides that, we also can see many people at small town go to the city to find the works.

I am going to discuss about small town second. Today, transports is one of the important things in the people life. But, usually at small town, the number of transport that people use is not highest than a city. However,at the small town, they still use traditional transport as their transportation likes bicycles. The environment at small town is more fresher than city and it also less pollution, that can make comfortable to the people who stay at small town. The other aspect is about educational institution. At small town, usually, it do not enough educational institution and also the number of teacher to teach the now generation. This is the big problem that small town here. The job opportunities is also less than the city. There are not a lot of job opportunities that we can choose.

It does not matter what place a person choose to living. It is because, these places have their own advantages and disadvantages. Depending on what the person likes is what he or she will choose. For me, i like to choose small town city because the environment, but sometimes it is better to try a different experiences.

Government university and private institution

Government university and private institution are both of learning institution. It is hard to make a decision between choosing a government over a private one. Between government university and private institution, there are many differences and similarities. The main differences are fees, rules and loan, the similarities are system of education, class atmosphere and learning institution.

Government university and private institution have some similarities. The first similarities is their system of education. Private institution and government university offer same courses and subjects. University has mathematics, accounts, and others. Private institution also has the same subjects. They also offer diploma and degree. The first differences are about their fees. The fee for government university is much cheaper and suitable for lower income and normal people. It is because government university is under the government cares. Thus, government will give aids and funding to the university. Meanwhile, private institution fee is expensive from the government university's fee. This is because the private institution had to expense own their own without the help from government.

The second similarities is about their class atmosphere and facility. Nowadays, the lecturers use PowerPoint slides in their classes. So, the classes must have LCD projector, computer, and connection cable. Students should study in a comfortable class and clean class. In university and private institution, their classes is very comfortable. The classes have air conditioners, LCD projector, computer, comfortable chairs and others. They have library, lab, toilet and other facility. Compared to university, the rules for private institution is more flexible. Private institution students may just come to class with wearing slippers, fashionable t-shirt or dress, wearing denim, skinny jeans, long hair and others. Sometimes it's more look like a fashion show rather than a lecture. Their students do not worry about getting late to class and do not come to class. This is because some of their lecturers ignore the students breaking the rules. It is said that students controls the lecturers because the students who is the one paying the lecturer's salary. However, government university rule are more tight. Student cannot come late and cannot playing truant. This is because their marks are on the lecturer's jurisdiction and the lecturer has full control of the student's behavior. University student appearances are more polite because they must tuck in their t-shirt, while wearing jeans is forbidden, and they must wear shoes instead of slippers. The conclusion is, government university is more disciplines than private institution.

The third and last similarities between government university and private institution is a place for furthering our studies. After SPM or STPM, it is hard to make decision between the two learning institution. It is place for upgrade our certificate such as from diploma to degree. Furthermore, these institutions help us to step forward and as a way to achieve our ambition. They are also under one roof, either government university or private institution, they must have approval from Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. The last differences are their qualification to enroll into the these higher education institutions. Government university needs at least all subject credit. But, many students got A's in SPM or STPM. So, the government only choose the best to enter the university. Private institution send their invitation letter to the student. There are many choices of private institution. They do not mind whether students got good grades or not. They just take student who want to enter their institution. Student only have to prepare a lot of money to pay the fee.

As the conclusion, government university and private institution have their own similarities and differences. Choose wisely between them. I prefer applying government university because it is better. We also can apply PTPTN loan easily. Some private institution is not certificated. In spite of these differences and similarities, they both serve the same purpose, to prepare an individual to face challenges for the real world.
